A great Tajik Astronomer and Mathematician is noticed by WIKIPEDIA.
Abu Mahmood Khujandi or Abu Mahmud Hamid ibn al-Khidr Al-Khujandi (Persian: ???????? ?????) was a Persian (Tajik) astronomer and mathematician who lived in the late 10th century and helped build an observatory near the city of Ray (near today’s Tehran) in Iran. He was born in Khujand (now Tajikistan) about 940 and died in 1000.
The few facts about Khujandi’s life that are known come from both his surviving writings and comments made by Nassereddin Tusi. From Tusi’s comments it is fairly certain that Khujandi was one of the rulers of the Mongol tribe in the Khudzhand region, and thus must have come from the nobility.

The first known mural sextant was constructed in Ray, Iran, by Abu-Mahmud al-Khujandi in 994.[1]. To measure the obliquity of the ecliptic , al-Khujand? invented a device that he called al-Fakhri sextant (al-suds al Fakhr?), a reference to his patron; Buwayhid ruler, Fakhr al Dawla (976-997). The main improvement incorporated in al-Fakhri sextant over earlier instruments was bringing the precision of reading to seconds while older instruments could only be read in degrees and minutes. This fact was confirmed by al-Bir?nial-Marr?kush? and al-K?sh?. This instrument was a sixty-degree arc on a wall aligned along a meridian (north-south line). Al Khujandi’s instrument was larger than previous such instruments; it had a radius of about twenty meters.[2]

In Hard Times, Migrant Money Flow Stalls
By SABRINA TAVERNISE
Published: December 25, 2008
The financial crisis in the developed world is beginning to reach poor countries like Tajikistan, and labor migrants, with feet in both worlds, are among the first to feel it.

With the winter already here and a cold to come soon, if you are traveling to Tajikistan make sure you are fully prepared. Electricity is better than last year. However, only couple of hours a day. Internet cafes are not able to function. Gas supply is limited to only couple of hours.

If you are traveling via Tashkent through Aybek border, forget it. Uzbekistan Embassies are issuing visas, but the border authorities are not allowing anyone to pass. People who even have tickets or are on transit are not able to cross. Only Uzbek authorities know when it will be open. If you happen to book a flight already, we strongly suggest you revise your bookings and travel arrangements.

Pilaf, also known as pilau, pilaf is typically a seasoned rice (or other grain) dish in which the rice is sautéed before the liquid. In Tajikistan and its neighboring countries you will see this dish everywhere. However, recently pilaf has been very popular among Tajik students who are abroad. There are different kinds of technique for cooking grains in which the grain is sautéed briefly in butter, then simmered in stock or water with various seasonings. In Northern Tajikistan pilaf is cooked differently than in other parts of the country. The taste also differs depending on the ingredients and time it has been cooked. When I was growing up my grandmother would tell me that if pilaf is cooked with a firewood as a fuel instead of natural gas it will have a different taste as well. There are many techniques available to cook the pilaf we have and with this post I am hoping friends around the world would post their comments as well as send pictures from different parts of the world. This one is made in Colorado, USA. Just by looking at it I know friends are going hungry already. Enjoy!

Why do we need Money? In the article written at by weekly “Arguments and Facts”, for 80 years, during the Soviet invasion, in the era of workers and peasants in the past, we have created a lot enemies. For most of the people “money” is still a hassle and provokes many citizens. If you would like to use the philosophy term “money does not smell”, or “it is not a fair million”, or by some to have enough money could be considered even as hooliganism. However, when you see people driving 600-m “Mercedes” vehicles new or used, you can sense that everything is under one hat. This article could be considered about money and about people who know how to earn; we want to somehow influence the public opinion. A lot of money - this is not always bad! MONEY - IT’S FREEDOM. People need to feel confident. Money makes you to talk to “waiters”, as different kind of people and expect taxi drivers to call you boss rather than a friend.

If you do not want to worry about daily bread, and to give maximum time for people who you love than you should not worry about money. Money maybe needed to help many of the same ordinary people like myself, to abandon their work from 8:00 to 16:00. It takes time to make money have a financial freedom. I just get amused when people from traditional business try to convince me that what I am doing has no prospects. They simply can not understand and imagine what a pleasure it is not to have money.

My desires are simpler at the moment. I understand it could or will change. However, every morning I wake up, I pray to God that he made to the way I am. To have golden toilets of course great, but I just imagine how many people would have bread in their house. Money is running the world now, and everyone including myself is running after money on a daily basis. Income and Revenue are the most popular words these days. People ask for money wherever you go. We the people of the world invented money and go after peace of paper or metal. We understand that people want money because they can buy stuff and we understand that if we have enough money we can have nicer rides and nicer homes and nicer planes. Are we going to take that to the grave?

Feeling a taste for a life with a lot of money, you will never be able to return to its lower level. And you think and work hard to keep yourself at that level. And then you will want more. And that is not the money that is the driving force anymore. Majority of people would say money- is not a bad thing after all. Later they realise that they are working for something which has been created by humans. They get scared when they loose money in the stock market. When majority of us wake up every morning we think about our money. We think about work and only then we think about our life and family. We sometimes challenge ourselves if we can make that much money as Bill Gates did. Sometimes, we are millionaires and stay that way and sometimes we are billionaires and can not stay that way. One day we become rich and one day we become poor if we think in monetary terms. This has a huge effect on our daily life and the future we have chosen. Some people get into debt and some people get richer because of that. One person’s loss is another person’s gain they say. It is true in most cases.

There have been many books, articles and posts written about money and I just wanted to share my own point of view. Not really clear as I read again, but I guess, I don’t want to spend a lot of time editing ether as time is money and money is time.

All of a sudden you see oil prices go down. You see Australian dollar going down and American dollar going up against Euro’s. One day it is up and one day it is not. It’s all about making a profit and making more money so that we can spend it. So when we earn it we can not spend it as many of us don’t know how. Many people always have no money. Many always have and many never had. I don’t think it will change. We think about helping the climate change and we think about UN Millennium Development Goals to be reached, but is it all true will we realistically reach it we will have the hunger eliminated. Will we be able to change anything? One small earthquake and everything goes down. One small hurricane and we do it all again. We build we spend and we make more money. Money has become really part of life. These days money is digital, you keep in the bank and you check every day if it has grown. You check and you calculate and you wait and wait. If you spend some you get disappointed and if you gain some you are happy. Money is in our emotions and daily life every second of our life. We read books about money and we write books about money and how to make more money and more money. When we have no money we want money and when we have money we don’t want any.

It is very funny and sometimes sad. We show emotions and we like to control them sometimes and sometimes we just let it go. The bottom line of the story is to have a lot of money is one thing, to be able to live the life without any money is another skill. Any comments anyone?

ACCOUNTING: one type of accounting system as well as activities aimed at measuring, processing and transmission of financial information. The main purpose of accounting is to ensure rapid external and internal users with reliable information on the activities of the company. External users (investors, creditors, tax and other public bodies, holders of shares of the company) the information provided in the form of annual report of the firms. The internal users are the managers of the company at all levels, which accounting provides information needed for management decisions.
Accounting operates only the information that can be represented in monetary terms, that is, operations and all assets and liabilities of the company accounted for its value.
The Financial statements drawn up with some frequency. In the Russian Federation this year (from 1 January to 31 December), in international practice fiscal year could be called a period of 12 months. The main instruments of accounting are bills that reflect the monetary value of various assets and liabilities. Each business transactions reflected on two accounts: one record indicates the departure of a monetary sum, while the second - to add (arrival) of the same amount (in another location or ownership). Such a system of recording transactions was named double entry (for the first time it was applied by the Italian mathematician Luca Pacholi). The final table of uniting all accounts of a company represents the balance sheet. In addition to balance, binding document is also an income statement. Based on the data collected are all indicators of the financial position of the company, its efficiency, liquidity and solvency.
In the U.S., Britain, the Netherlands used «Anglo-Saxon» accounting model, which focuses on the needs of investors and creditors of the company. From a technical standpoint, it most liberal - each company creates its own plan accounts, there is no single approved numbered accounts. However, there are general requirements for bookkeeping, described the system «generally accepted accounting principles» (generally accepted accounting principles - GAAP). Such requirements are developed by professional associations of accountants.
In France, Germany, Japan and some other countries is «continental model», tailored to the needs of tax authorities. It is more formal, because based on a unified plan approved by the State accounts.
In countries with high rates of inflation used «Latin American model», which is characterized by constant adjustment of rates on inflation.
«Islamic model» adapted to the requirements of Shariah. For example, in the Islamic accounting model, there is no term dividends, because Islam prohibits this type of income (as well as payment of interest for the loan).
The Russian model of accounting for its principles closest to the mainland, but the Russian accounting practices significantly different from either of the world. This is because it was originally formed to operate in the planned economy. Russian accounting system is subject to reform in order to move closer to the principles of GAAP. They say that you could write a from the life of any human being. And let all people - different, but some prefer to read other people’s books, while others write books themselves, and some have even taken to capture their lives in non autobiographical narration. It is offcourse,  too early to write memoirs now, but believe me, how am pleased to know that for several years, I am sending to read more than a thousand people, to your website, “I love 1C”, the accounting software. Accounting 1C, admit honestly, sometimes, I have ambivalent attitudes. On the one hand, I know what it feels like when you have a balance in your books and bank until the last cent. The important understanding is that accounting requires order and the beauty will come later.

On the other hand, accountant first of all must have enough patients and nerves. Secondly, it is a monotonous work if you don’t like what you are doing. Some events in my life prove that professional career is important.  I started working as an accountant when I was young. And precisely because of the monotony, uniformity of operations and systems of accounting, I became a computer programmer. The first thing I wanted to automate, was costing imported goods. Well, sometimes, it proves to be boarding again and again to impose the same name and suppliers of goods if the goods are being reviewed over and over again during a week. These calculations are complex and, simultaneously interesting to solve at the same time.

When I complete the programme and the costing for the finished product and the calculation of taxes on wages it is a relief. To this day, these are the most difficult things in my view. Lots of Accounting (I am talking about production and wages) remains my most favourite. Joke of whether, if I was able to calculate wages in the manufacturing enterprise without the use of components’ calculation.
But the most important in accounting – are accountants! It is considered that women are usually good accountant.

A lot of good words about accountants here, but when I write articles about “accountants” as a programmer, I do so with love for accounting and accountants. Check out this site:  Here

I have long wanted to learn to work on Excel, to create charts and a poll on my blog to identify the interests of readers, and thereby increase thenumber of visitors. Therefore, I would like to ask readers of Tajikzone- suggest ways that I can write better blog posts. By the way, you will receive the most relevant articles to your interests if you comment. It will not take you more than 10 seconds to do this. Also it should be enough to mention  the topics that you would be interested in. This is indeed very important!

By the way here is a list of topics that might interest you:
1. Living
2. Money
3. Marketing
4. Banking
5. Growing your Captial.
6. Services

Sometimes life throws you from one place to another, and sometimes things are better. The more serious you are in the world of online business the more profitable your business online will be. The more independence you have, the better the opportunities in the world of computers.

Imagine yourself tomorrow in Zafarabad region in the Northern part of Tajikistan; you will not be able to maintain your business online. Expect problems with internet connection and the difficulties with checking your e-mail or writing a post on your blog without internet cafes or a borrowed laptop from your friend make it much harder to communicate with the outside world. Our advice to you when you are coming to Tajikistan and will be travelling to remote areas is to be independent with your IT equipments and perhaps be equipped with a good satellite phone. Iridium mobile phone perhaps is a good choice for communication worldwide. I have got to get me one. But I hear it is expensive.

Yesterday, I returned from a week-long tour and military registration and enlistment, and realized that you need to become more mobile (week did not have Internet access). At the beginning, I prepared a list of things I need to buy, and then, a small thought, decided that I might be interested in a laptop. I am not a fan of a brand, but fundamentally, it might be a laptop type Mac Book Air or a normal used cheap laptop for 1500 Somoni.

The main idea is to get connected to Internet and at least have a computer in front of you. I am sure you have been in the situations where you are lost in the universe of no computers. This is a 21st century, but most of the people in the world do not have computers. Why would they need a computer when there is nothing to eat?

The more serious your business is, the more important it becomes to own a laptop. If you are into writing articles, writing a business plan or just would like to follow the news, you would need a laptop with at least couple of web browsers. (Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer are the standards these days) The laptop these days have become so thin, fast and easier to use that most of the laptops look like cell phones these days.

Cell phones these days huh? This little thing makes people communicate and brings in a lot of revenue to thousands of people around the world. The availability of coverage is offcourse is important. However, mobile phones these days have almost covered the world and soon you will have cell phones so think that perhaps there would not be a need to carry them. We are becoming smarter and smarter and the balance is what we must find. The balance between your life, and work and the life on the internet these days must be maintained.

The use of mobile phones these days depend on the amount of spare cash you have in your balance. A lot of people pay 60 Somoni in cash on a monthly basis. Figure out the United States Dollar equivalent of that by divining to the current exchange rate. You would need to Google it, but the point is not in the exchange rate, but actually the payments people are making. Couple month’s ego, I had a beggar come to my door steps and by the time I was brining him a peace of bread, he was chatting on his mobile. Wait a minute, beggars have money to chat and they don’t have money to eat? Interesting huh? But it is true. Even begging these days has its own cost. They want to make more money faster and faster. So they have learned to communicate with each other on the mobile. So again it is give and take. I guess, it has always been give and take, but more people take these days, but give.

Most of us worry how many minutes we talk on the mobile phone and most of us do not care. Is there some kind of balance sheet out there for this? No one cares and no one will. If you have 60 Somoni a month to pay for your chatting on the phone, than there is no room to go and start begging, but you know what, the more you say the more they do. It is an easy job.

Have you tried to beg for money before? I have not done it personally, but I understand this is an art and at the same time a business. If you can afford to spend on mobile communications 60 Somoni a month – than to beg for money is not fare, but who cares about fairness these days where one shopping bag worth of goods when you go to the grocery store worth a minimum USD 100 if you are lucky. Everything is so expensive, but people seem to make it through even with US$ 50 per month. How do they do it, it is a mystery to me.

And yet, I would like to add. Try to buy the phone that has GPS functionality available this would help you in emergency situations if you happen to find yourself on top a mountain or unknown city.

E-Reader, a device for reading e-documents is a good thing to won these days. I advise for people who have the funds to procure one, as when you don’t have electricity you could use it for browsing your e-books late at nights in the mountains. This offcourse is very cost effective because you would not be keeping many kilograms of books. Moreover, it solves storage problems and you will have easy access to information. For the ones you don’t have the money, but want to own one. Consider making the Google adsense work for you. That way pretty quickly you can make enough money to own one.

At Geeker.ru a special section - eBook Readers are available. Just visit and see. Everyone knows that information is easy to obtain these days and that the information - rules the world! And on the Internet this “information” – is like water in the sea. Terabytes of information and information.

Therefore, it is desirable that you own a laptop these days for normal work or personal use. It makes your work so much easy. By the way, learn to keep your passwords secure, by searching this information on Google. Always log off from the websites when you are using public computers in the internet cafes.

One way is to create a document in Google Docs with a list of passwords. Password protect your information, and keep it digitally so that only you know where it is. This is might not be a good idea for some people, so don’t take our word for it, think before you do it. God forbid you break your hard disk, or a computer is stolen. What happens if a fire breaks out and you quickly need to get out without taking your laptop? Buy a new one! Save your life first though.
